Relay for Life
Glenbard North High School Carol Stream, Illinois June 13 and 14, 2008 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. SULTRY SALSA SUPPORTS THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY RELAY FOR LIFE
La Baronesa Narce will be walking in the Carol Stream Relay For Life
on June 13 and June 14. Please read Narce's plea,
lend a hand and your support to the cause of eliminating cancer. Dear
Friends, Family, Acquaintances and Dance
Enthusiasts,
This year
I am participating in a fun and exciting community activity - The American
Cancer Society Relay For Life of Carol Stream. The Relay is a unique
way to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. I
am sending you this letter in request of your support for my
efforts.
Because
cancer has affected us all in one way or another, I decided to participate
in the Relay for Life. I will be part of a team where at least one
member of our team will be walking or running on the track from 6:00
pm on June 13 until 6:00 am on June 14. Our Relay event is
taking place at Glenbard North High School in Carol
Stream.
My
favorite time of the event is at dusk when the luminaria bags are
lit. Each luminaria bag represents someone who has been touched by
cancer. These tributes light the night as the hundreds of
participates walking around the track symbolize that the cancer fight
never sleeps and that there will not be a finish line until a cure is
found. My personal goal is to raise $1,000. for research, education,
advocacy and patient service programs.
