BIOGRAPHY: Manuel "Mannix" Martínez, one of Puerto Rico's legendary voices.

Mannix Martínez always captivates the crowd with his unique style and great voice. He has a great variety of music in his repertoire and can present styles from various dance styles of Salsa Dura, Salsa Clasica and Salsa Romantica, Merengue, Cumbia, Guaracha, Cha, Cha, Cha and Bachata all the way to the beautiful Romantic Boleros and R & B.

With his "Tribute to the Legends" he presents his wife, female vocalist Yvonne Curet, singing her tribute to The Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz. He also presents Jeffrey Martínez, his youngest of three sons, singing a tribute to "El Cantante de los Cantantes" Hector Lavoe, as well as playing Timbales, Bongo Beat & backing vocalist.

They include a Special Tribute to La Sonora Matancera of Cuba and La Sonora Ponceña of Puerto Rico. They also include in their repertoire songs of Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez, Tito Rodriguez, Junior Toledo, Tito Puente, La Lupe & Selena. Etta James, Donna Summer, Michael Jackson & Gladys Knight.

Formerly singing with the world famous Salsa orchestra, La Sonora Ponceña, of Ponce, Puerto Rico, which has been successfully performing internationally since 1954.

Mannix Martínez was also lead vocalist of the orchestra La Terrifica of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Well known for hit singles and classics recorded with these bands like "Cancion", "Pura" "Como Amigos, "Como Amantes" & "Casa Pobre, Casa Grande".

His hits as a singer with this great orchestra led him to play at venues like Madison Square Garden in New York, Coliseo Polihedro in Venezuela, El Pascual Guerrero in Colombia, El Callao in Peru, in Mexico, Brazil and Europe.

Mannix Martínez shared the stage with Latin Superstars like the "Queen of Salsa" Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez and The Sonora Matancera.

His first solo CD, "Estoy Aqui", focused on conserving the great "Salsa Classica" style of Salsa music. He also participated in the CD project of producer Radames Plaza of New York titled "Legacia de la Salsa"

In the Chicago area, Mannix Martínez and his band "A Tribute to the Legends" have performed at venues and in shows such as; Navy Pier, Chicago Summer Dance, The Cubby Bear, Tumbao, Rumba, V-Live, The John Hancock Center, The Old Town School of Folk Music, Excalibur, Carnavale, Chicago Summer Fest, Arlington Racetrack, the Hotwater Wherehouse and the Eagles Club in Milwaukee, The Foundry and America's Historic Roundhouse in Aurora, the Chicago International Salsa Congress, the Indiana Puerto Rican Parade, the Chicago Puerto Rican Parade, Los Hijos de Borinquen in East Chicago, Indiana, Sabor Restaurant & Tequila Bar, Indiana, A Taste of East Chicago Festival, A Taste of Latin America in Chicago and many more.

Mannix Martínez & A Tribute to the Legends have also performed at Weddings, Fund Raisers, Quinceñeros, Anniversaries, Political Events, Birthday Parties & Sweet Sixteen Parties.
